LAKEWOOD, Colo., Oct. 12, 2017—Sears’ Heroes at Home program is partnering with Rebuilding Together Metro Denver (RTMD), a nonprofit that provides low-income homeowners with critical health and safety home repairs, to help revitalize VFW Post 4444 in Commerce City on Saturday, Oct. 21.
“Volunteers from Sears, along with RTMD, will be making much-needed repairs and transforming this VFW post into a more welcoming and safe place for our veterans,” says RTMD Project Manager Samantha Smith. “Volunteers will be helping with painting, landscaping and fence repair.”
Approximately 200 veterans are members of VFW Post 4444 in Commerce City, the only VFW post in northeast Denver.

Over the last decade, the Heroes at Home program has raised more than $21 million in support of Rebuilding Together and served 14,250 veterans across the country. Rebuilding Together affiliates and Sears’ Heroes at Home program will complete dozens of projects this fall, adding to the nearly 1,700 rebuilds completed since the program began.
