Energy Efficiency Initiative
In March 2010, RTMD officially kicked off the Energy Efficiency Intiative in an exciting new partnership with Denver Water. Over the next year, volunteers and staff will:
- Complete 200 water audits on homes we serve in Denver
- Install water saving devices:
- Sink aerators
- Low-flow showerheads
- High efficiency toilets
On Rebuilding Day in April each of the 22 homes will receive energy efficient upgrades including CFL light bulbs, water heater blankets, pipe insulation, new furnace filters and adjusted water heater temperatures.
All of these measures can save our homeowners up to 10% on their monthly utility costs!
